After being traded to the Diamondbacks during the offseason of '06, he was designated for assignment to make room for Durbin in '07. He was out of options. He cleared waivers and reported to Triple-A Tucson. He played in 23 games with a .232 avg. in '07.

In June '07 he went on the inactive list and it was reported that "he decided to go home" and was temporarily retired. http://www.azstarnet.com/sports/188360

I was hoping he was going to make it!

He was traded by the Brewers to the Diamondbacks in 2006 and did not play in 2007. Although he is still the property of the Diamondbacks it does look like his career is over at age 27. I don't believe we will ever see him in MLB and he will just fade away. He was a guy with some speed and I thought he had a shot but just couldn't make it.

I think my favorite current player (it is also Derek Jeter) will be around a long time, I hope. But it will depend on who is preforming the best for the NY Yankees at that time, on the field and as a "Rep" off the field, it will be some big shoes to fill!!
