When you go to high school there are plenty of others you don't hang out with so you don't know if you will be the only freshmen. There is bound to be others. Even if you are the only one you will get one on one coaching and could become better. Based on this question it sounds likes you already made your decision, don't let fear keep you from doing the things you want to do. For tryouts, just have fun, be loud, and show your stuff.

Well many high schools have freshman cheerleaders who cheer for the freshman teams. So the transition really isn't as difficult as it sounds. Also ask yourself this question do you love cheering with a passion? If the answer is yes go for it and if you don't make it so what there are so many different activities to choose from. No matter what you do you will find a great group of people. Getting involved is the fastest and easiest way to make friends in high school. If you decide you don't want to cheer you could always look into similar groups like color guard, drill team, or dance team. Good Luck.

Definitely try out, hon! Don't worry about being the only freshman. Some of the other girls (and boys?) were also freshman once too.

Remember to wear school colors for the clinics and the tryout itself. Smile, smile, smile! Don't stop if you make a mistake. Have lots of positive energy and enthusiasm, and try everything that is asked of you. Coaches aren't just looking for current skills, we're looking for potential as well.

Good luck!

wow, me too! i'm currently in 8th grade and i'm still deciding on trying out for high school cheerleading! and none of my close friends are cheerleaders so i didn't really want to try out but then think about it, you'll meet new people! i think you should just try out! i know i'm scared that if i try out and make it i'll never have someone to talk to on the team but your cheerleading team is one. you'll make friends and you'll have a blast! good luck!

You should definitely try out!And don't worry if you're the only freshmen.Cheerleading is a TEAM effort. That means you all have to work together.Eventually you'll make friends with them and if you don't then screw them.Because you should be doing it for you!!!

if u love cheerleading that much, like me, lol then u shouldn't care if any of ur other friends are doing it or not.. im doing high school cheering and it is 100,0000000 times easier than allstar cheering (which i do too.) so i think u should do it if u rele love cheering.. and if ur better than all of the other girls they will wanna talk to u and stuff so u wont be a loner and u will make a lot more friends too

i think you should do it if you love it so much, even if you are the only
freshman, tryouts may be a little uncomfortable, but if you stick it out and
make the team you'll have a great experience and make a lot of new friends,
probably older ones if not too many freshman are trying out,
good luck!!
