Here are a few ideas:

1. Burn CDs of baby-friendly songs. You can download them from the internet, or even just comb through your own collection for kid-friendly tunes. (My kid loves Generation X's Ready Steady Go and the Kooks Ooh La. Who woulda thunk it?) They'll come in handy for years.

2. Write a journal to your baby. This is a little syrupy sweet for me, but I actually do it - and have since he was born. I mostly jot down things about his development - new words, first haircut and so on - but sometimes I go all mushy and tell him how lucky I feel to his mom.

3. Go through all of your stuff - clothes, kitchen cabinets - and clear space out. Obviously, you shouldn't be teetering on high ladders. But clearing out closets and organizing space is a highly practical thing to do. Once your kiddo comes, time is tight - and they get waves and waves of stuff for every new phase of their life.

4. Sort through your old photos and organize them. It's not the most fun you can have at home, but you'll probably take so many pics of your new little one that if you have loose ones around now, you'll never get caught up. You might also start your child's baby book - family tree, etc. can be filled out in advance.

People always tell you to enjoy it while it lasts as you wont have a minute when the baby is here. Not entirely true, thankfully they sleep rather a lot but do try and get all the "me time" in while you can because you will have some days where you dont have time to pee! I remember when my daughter was having her growth spurt & was feeding continuously & my midwife had to listen to me crying that I had let 5 cups of tea go cold as I hadnt had time to drink them! Do have all the baths, watch all the trash telly, films, read the books you want as you will soon belong to someone much more important than yourself. Its also a good idea to get yourself signed up for some nice mummy & baby classes - baby yoga, baby sign language when you are ready as there is nothing more comforting than sitting in a room full of women who share all of your anxieties, fears, funny baby puke stories etc, you get the picture and you will probably make some new friends. A woman I met over the choccie biscuits at active birth yoga is still one of my best mates now. Good luck!

...and this is why I'm waiting to go on Maternity leave until right before I go into labor :)

I would just finish up finishing touches on the baby's room, make sure your hospital bag is packed and all of the baby's clothing/items are organized and ready to use. You could knit a blanket or personalize some onesies with a sewing machine.

needlepoint! Send someone to WalMart and have them look in the Arts & Crafts section. There should be pre-built kits that includes the cross-hatched cloth, thread, needle and picture.

you could also try and crochet / knit a blanket for your baby.

Now, are you on ordered bed rest or just on maternity leave? If you're just on maternity leave, then research some gentle workouts that you can do while pregnant. If you're on ordered bed rest ... stick with it.

Ohh! Scrapbooking! You can make pages for the baby now and then add the pictures after baby arrives. You can also start the baby's scrapbook with pictures of you and daddy...It doesn't require a lot of standing or moving and you'll have something to keep forever.

Good luck!You're almost there!

I'd start doing something creative for the baby. Maybe make a journal and write in it everyday.

Take pictures, do your nursery, do something for the baby, scrapbooking of your pregnancy pictures, knitting, etc.

Do a hobby you like.
Goodluck, hun & congrats!

take up cross-stitching. it's easy to learn and you can make something cute to frame and hang up in the baby's room while you wait for his arrival
