the reflex part is the peripheral; like when you touch somethign hot you will move away from it very quickly; not sent to brain but to peripheral nerves in spinal cord...hope this helps; but some reflexs are part of the central nervous system, its those that seem life threatening that the peripherals kick in

A reflex starts when a sensory receptor (peripheral nervous system) is activated, travels to the spinal cord (central nervous system) and then passes directly to the motor neurons, therefore bypassing the brain. So I guess you could say it utilizes components of both the CNS and PNS, although reflexes are more often considered specific pathways rather than part of some nervous system.

But I want to say that the reflex is a part of both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.

The only reflex in which CNS plays a very important part is called the conditioned reflex. Normally reflex actions are peripheral.
