It's like saying 'owned'.
Same meaning, just a different word.

It comes from player vs player video games. In those games, players can text message each other. If you look on your keyboard you will see the "P" is next to the "O." When people text quickly, they might hit "P" instead of "O." "Owned" then becomes "pwned." Some think that it's just funny now to just type "pwned."
