I just got a 22" LCD monitor and have an nVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. When I play in max resolution on Call of Duty 4, it is a lot slower than playing in my old 17" monitor's resolution. I'd like to play max resolution for the graphics not to be terrible but what needs to be upgraded? My graphics card? If so, what is a top of the line graphics card at an affordable price?

I'm playing in 1280x1024 resolution in the game but I'd like to go to 1680x1050 for the best looking graphics, but don't want the lag.

Processor: Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Video Card: nVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT

My youngest son is a gamer, and he had a pair of nVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT's and a 22 in monitor on his computer when we bought him COD4 for his birthday. They could not keep up, so we bought him a nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT XXX for Christmas. He is playing with the 8800, says it is fine. It cost us about $250.

I'd say you just need a new graphic card. nVIDIA is a good brand. My recommendation is just to go up a few models than your current card, I don't know of any great deals with nVIDIA, but if you stay with the same company, there are less compatibility issues. Also, you might want to get a RAM upgrade, i dont know what you have right now, but more RAM can help with graphics. Hope this Helps!

Get a new CPU, preferably an E4500 and a XFX Geforce 8600 GTS XXX unless you want an 8800 Ultra!

Yeah change your Vid card. 128MB is too low. Aim for something with 512MB of RAM. Look at the nvidia 8800 series for a good video card.
