Green Bay is not a REALLY small town. It's just not huge. It's in northeast Wisconsin. And what does that have to do with how many fans they have?

Do you know that there once was a question on family fued about the football team with the most loyal fans? The answer was Green Bay? Yea I'm pretty lucky to not only have been a Packer fan all my life but to also live about five blocks from the stadium. I don't think Green Bay is big at all but it has tons of charm and here life revolves around the packers, good or bad. We watch them win, we watch them loose and no matter what they are always our team. We own them. Not some jack *** with too much money... Do you know that Lambeau never has an unsold ticket. and that tickets right now are pretty much impossible to get as they normally are winning or loosing? The waiting list for season tickets is about 35 years? They have so many fans because they are full of dignity integrity and class. You never see a player or coach talk badly about another team or player. They support each other and try to bring the best out of all their players on and off the field. They have high expectations for the players and expect nothing but for them to act as role models on and off the field. The Packers also have a rich football history. They have always contributed greatly to the community here. They coaches and most of the players have non profits established here that remain after their days of playing here. They have breat cancer foundations, many for underprivilaged kids and tons of schlorships, they donate to a lot of runs/walks, the salvation army, homeless shelters and domestic abuse shelters. A few times a year the packers go to the homeless shelter and serve meals...
It is easy to respect a team that shows as much class as green bay does. They always say their next game is against a talented team and after winning a game always compliment the team they played. We are also the most loyal fans. We don't care if it's twenty below we just suit up in our hunting/snowmobiling gear and rough it out in the stands cheering on our team. I don't know quite how to explain how it feels to be a packer fan, it's a feeling I don't believe most football fans know... but I wish all teams could be as much of a class act orginization as the Packers are.

Cause there are a lot of haters out there, its easy to root for a humble small town team cause people can relate to that kind of team or at least root for easier than a powerful big city juggernaut that weilds its power by outspending other teams or has more appeal for players to play there so they can win or make more $. Personally Im not a hater, I tend to root for the best teams & not the underdogs, Im attracted to big & powerful things in general. So that & I think Green Bay has a lot of history & they are not deadly boring like the San Antonio Spurs even though they are small town. Also in Green Bays case, by NFL standards they have a very successful franchise, so in that regard I guess people are not hating on them but rooting for them instead...but if you think about that I dont call those people bandwagoners, I mean I understand cause who are you going to root for the Arizona Cardinals or a successful team? If you want to see some good smash mouth football, you know the answer. BTW, Im a Cleveland Browns fan but I still root for other teams except when theyre playing the Browns.

Because its the real America's Team. It is owned by the fans and is the class act of the NFL. Also Green Bay is not a really small town. You should visit some day.

If you don't know where Green Bay is, how is it that you know what size of town it is?

Green Bay itself has over 100,000 people, so it's not really that small of a town. The people in the area are extremely polite and friendly, even to the Packer's opponents.

As high-profile pro athletes go, Brett Favre has set the bar quite high - and is still humble. That's not exactly common in this day and age with pro athletes who are persistently in the news with legal issues.

Who wouldn't want to be a fan?

Because it's Title Town. Plus, we are the only fan base who owns the team. GB is very small but the people there have huge hearts for football and Wisconsin sports in general. But I think this team is more then just Favre. Even before he came to the Packers, They were still selling out games like crazy. There is a 20+ year waiting list for Tickets.

Green Bay is in the upper peninsula in Wisconsin.

Yes, GB is a small town, in terms of, football cities with pro teams.

There are GB fans all around the country and they back their team through winning seasons and losing seasons. They definitely aren't bandwagon fans.

Green Bay has so many fans because of all the history that has happened there. The team has won the most super bowls ever and had one of the greatest coaches in history lead them to winning the first two super bowls. No wonder they named the Super Bowl trophy after him. Green Bay is one of the most historic teams in football.

cause back in the begining of football small towns had football team. but a team in a little town kept winning and winning. then more and more people in wisconsin feel in love with the team. and people up here in wisconsin, minnesota the dakotas are very loyal. unlike many other people i have met not from here that switch teams every couple of seasons. we love our home town teams. the last time any team in MN won a championship was '91 then before that was '87 with the twins. and the time before that was the lakers winning championships with george miken in the 50's. to sum it up we are loyal fans and we pass on to our kids the love of the home team like our parents did to us.
