I'm in pretty much the same boat. I say, bring her to the barn to show her how well that you ride on her. Show her how cute she is and tell her information about the horse. That makes someone more comfortable with an animal. She will be more convinsable then and if you work out a deal with the cost, then maybe you could get her to give in. Be sure to thank her A LOT if she gives in. It always helps the parent feel better about giving in. And don't beg. Begging will probably give the parent the feeling of more superiority then he or she already has, which will influence them to flat out say no with no more discussion. Try to act like an adult and have a conversation with her about buying the mare. I know that I would rather a resonable person then a begging, crying freak. I hope that you get the mare. I'm sure that she's beautiful. Good Luck!

wow, you're lucky to still be able to be around horses. I rode and took care of horses for 4 years, but because of personal things, i had to quit. Anyway. a horse is a HUGE responsibility and you mom may just think that you arent ready. Be mature when talking to her and tell her calmly why you feel that you need that horse in your life. Another issue may be the cost. As you probably know, horses are VERY costly.
However, if you really put your heart into it, and know that you will never tire of the daily responsibility, then maybe your mom should realize that you might be ready for this jump in responsibility. good luck and I hope your mom changes her mind. =)

Show your mom how much to love her and how you'll care for her. Owning a horse is very expensive. Is it possibly that your mom doesn't feel she can afford a horse? Have her go down to meet the horse and see how she interacts with you. Ask your mom if she's willing to buy her if you promise to take her of her. Tell her you'll be responsible, do all your chores, do things without being asked twice, and do well in school. Show her how much that horse means to you.

Talk to your mother about the reasons she says no. Don't interrupt her or make excuses or try to talk her out of her argument--just LISTEN to her concerns first. Make sure you actually hear what she's saying to you.
Without knowing the reasons, you can't talk her into getting the horse for you--it could be too large a financial burden that she knows she won't be able to afford for long term. You may need to rethink how to HELP get the horse, rather than rely on your mom footing the whole bill for it.

Here is an unheard of concept, YOU buy the horse! Yes, thats right, get a job, and YOU foot the bill!
Amazing idea, eh? EARN something as opposed to getting spoon fed all the time.
