I would like to upgrade to a Core 2 Duo or some other kind of dual core CPU, but I am afraid of getting something that is not compatible. I upgraded my RAM to 2 gigs, a new power supply, and a Radeon 3850 video card if any of that matters. Thanks!
Current setup:
Base processor
Pentium4 640 (P) HT 3.2 GHz
800 MHz front side bus
Socket 775
Chipset
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 for Intel Processors
Motherboard
Manufacturer: ECS
Motherboard Name: RC410-M
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Asterope-GL8E

Get a Core 2 Duo E4500! Its the cheapest and still good, unless you want and AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, they're the same
