My hospital bill was about $4K, and my son's was almost $2K. So far his pediatrician bills have totaled almost another $1K and he is 2 months old. He's only had regular visits and a couple sick visits. I think each visit is $125 to $150.

I would suggest you go online to target or babiesrus.com and "shop" for a new baby. Get all the baby stuff you think you would need and then just look at the "total" dollar amount you've accumulated in your cart. You don't have to order everything for them to give you a total cost.

I did not have a shower and I spent probably $80 to $100 a month for the last six months of my pregnancy shopping garage sales and thrift stores for baby clothing.

If you "breastfeed" it's free, versus paying for formula. I breastfeed my son so I don't know how much formula costs. I'm also willing to bet you could do a internet search on "how much does a baby cost in the first year" and you'd get more accurate totals.

Good luck!

Go to Babies R Us and price things. It generally cost all the money you have. You don't need a stroller or high chair so if you don't have them you are fine. Babies don't need furniture or much clothing either you can keep them in a diaper and blanket.
The hospital bill will be the big expense and you can make baby food, breast feed and use cloth diapers to keep cost down. You will need a car seat to get them home from the hospital and if you are taking them in a car to doctor appointments. If you take the bus you don't need a car seat.
Babies were born and raised before most of this stuff was invented so they are wants not needs. Of course you will want a car and car seat, cute clothing, disposable diapers, a crib, swing, digital camera, digital thermometer and all the modern luxuries. You may also have day care cost a baby in daycare is expensive.
The class is just trying to help you prepare for when you are ready to start a family and maybe discourage people having them before they have money saved.

It fairly relies upon of the form you do all of it! human beings will say familiar 10 000$ according to year, however the only thank you to make that actual is to pay for further scientific care, get one greater area rented for the newborn, particular formulation, each and all the thousand little popular contraptions that are interestingly mandatory in the present day, the recent kind clothing, the 5 pairs of small amazing shoes that the toddler does not even want, the high priced instructor that babysits interior the evenings... definitely... In my existence considering that we've a newborn existence has by no capacity been so inexpensive; we don't consume out anymore, do not plenty flow out, do not flow into excesses so we finally end up with greater money interior the top. Plus we gained maximum of presents of garments and stuff that we virtually did not purchase any ourselves. definitely, that is gonna value you precisely how plenty you opt to spend...

It all depends on how you parent. I don't have a nursery for my youngest. He has slept in bed with my DH and myself since he was born. I also breastfeed, and use reusable nursing pads. I have one nursing bra($11) to sleep in; other than that I use my regular bras. I've had no need for bottles at all. I also use cloth diapers and wipes; so that was really just a one time thing. Money can be saved by buying a convertible carseat right away, as opposed to an infant seat and THEN a convertible. I don't use a stroller at all, just my sling or Ergo to carry my youngest.

I agree get on babies r us they have a checklist and you can go through that and get prices. Now for the hospital bill, it can range from 8 grand up. I had some complications and my bill was 28 grand and my daughter was 5 grand, she was in the nicu for a day.

I find they aren't that expensive when they are just born but get to be more expensive as they grow older in so many ways
