Yes - we own three. All are for hunting but could be used as protection and self defense. My grandpa, an uncle and plus my dad and his twin brother were all police officers. They always told us that locks are pretty much useless, if someone really wants to break into your house they'll kick the door down or break through the window. A security system might summon the police in 10 minutes or longer (depending on where you live and how great the law enforcement is there) - that's enough time for a rape, murder, or kidnapping to occur.
The only way to be sure your family is safe is to own a gun. BUT every parent and family should teach their children about gun safety. My parents did. One day I walked into my parents room and my dad had left his gun case unlocked, I immediately told me parents. My brother and I understood and respected how powerful a gun was.

Nope. I have fired a shotgun before and it almost tore my arm off!! It put me on my butt and left a bruise on my arm and shoulder for quite a while. I have no desire for that, again! lol

Yes, and I also have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.I think that is a good idea to have personal protection.

Not yet but Im going to get a shotgun to protect my home, theyre breaking down doors and coming right in these days and if it's going to be me or them it's gonna be them if I can help it.
