Physicists have shown that the universe will eventually "die", probably through lack of heat and light millions of years in the future. What ultimately is the point of humanity if the universe will eventually die? If humanity still exists then, what would we do?

What an interesting synchronicity- I heard Proff. Michio Kaku talk about it on Coast to Coast AM today. He said that until this time comes, we will probably (unless we annihilate ourselves first with A bombs) have the technology to "burst" this universe buble and junp to a parallel universe. A very interesting idea, has plenty of meat for SF authors probably.

But in my opinion humanity shouldn't have any artificial purpose- whether you like gardening or going to church or hanging out with friends or enjoying in Vegas. For each man should find his own path because, as Aleister Crowley wrote (and many existentialists said a similar thing):
Every man and every woman is a star.

Humanity is a microchasim of the universe, a model if you will. It follows the same patterns - the question could be asked why you brush your teeth only to eat breakfast 5 mins later.... Life is lived for the purpose of living - what results in the end is added bonus. How many different universes surround us - should this one fail us do we no attempt to find another to sustain us. Should we not get out of bed every morning just because one day we will die.

What do we do now? If the answer is nothing , No contribution to the society as a whole what makes us think that it will be any different in the future. Unless something makes the human mind expand to realise that there is more than just the self as individuals we will not expand into a group collective.

Well we cannot get really anywhere close to the universe's death cause we need a lot heat and light to exist ourselves.
Nor has humanity ever acted really with a unified purpose (unless you're take Darwinism into account), I would suggest you begin pondering what should the purpose of yourself be.
And who knows, we may find away to get to an alternate universe.

I used to have self belief that the universe exchange into immaterial, a results of theory, yet an extremely evidenced account of a prior-existence remembrance replaced my theory. a worldwide conflict II pilot died in a crash, and he exchange into reincarnated, approximately 8 years back, as a boy with innovations of his comrades, Iwo Jima, his dying or maybe his reception in heaven. purely style in " Lt. James McCready Huston". what's particularly staggering is that the pilot's sister continues to be alive. Now, if the universe exchange into immaterial and shifted with each theory, for this reason, ceased to exist as quickly as we died, then how does it progression without blips in a likely seamless certainty? How do souls which as quickly as ceased to exist finally end up re-converging with it without a transformation interior the circumstances of the universe (comparable human beings, historic events, and so on)?

I like your thinking.

Individually living responsibly for ourselves and others and ensuring their survival is one we have been doing for thousands of years.

On the scientific front with the technology and man's intelligence we may be able to over come that eventuality. But it all starts with people like you to even begin to ponder about it.

Already in man's experiences death does not appear to be the end of man's physical being. How do we tap into that?

Later.

The universe that existed when you asked this question is not the universe that exists as I write my answer.
What should be my purpose in life?

by the time the universe is of its inmiate end we should by then be able to go into other universes or create our own universe(its like billions of years in he fute so we have plenty of time)

or

we just reappear at random in infinity (exit mundi)
