I know what's going on w/ the economy all over the country, but sometimes I wonder if my city in Miami-Dade county is one of the most expensive regarding rent and food. I mean gas prices are pretty much the same all over?

How much rent do you pay in your area?

Are food prices gone up a lot?

Denver is middle of the road. Housing is more expensive but quite reasonable compared to others. Gas is cheaper right now @ 1.70 a gallon. Milk and beef are always more expensive.

One big difference from Florida though is that Colorado has a 4.6 percent state income tax and Florida does not have a state incoemt tax.

Seattle is expensive. I don't rent but I think people are paying a lot of rent. Food is going up fast but you can pick what you decide to buy. Eggs are about $5 a dozen but I just found a sale for 5 dozen for 4.99 so when these are gone I will not be buying many eggs, you can live a long time without eggs. I stopped buying milk because our stores only put gallons on sale and I can't use a whole gallon of milk. I use powdered milk for baking and only buy a gallon of milk a few times a year for drinking and cereal but still waste most of it.

I live in Erie, PA and cost of living here is not as high as it is in other areas, but people don't make as much either. You can rent a flat for around $450, but if your looking condo, that is about $1700. Groceries are up all over the country

Holy crap, granny, I live in Meadville!

Anyways, in northwest PA where I live living is cheap, but so are wages. Apartments are about 450-550 a month but you're lucky if you make over $10 an hour.

And for whoever said 5 dollars for a dozen eggs...you're getting ripped off! I pay about $1.20

Gas is at $3.09 right now.
