Talk to her perhaps with the rest of your class aswell. tell her you need to spend at least sometime on the lesson learned the day before. You arent learning anything and as a teacher that should be her main priority. If she really cares that you learn she will change her teaching habbits. If not then she wont and if you wont talk to the principal then you have very few options left with the matter of her. If i was you id either go back to my teacher from last year and ask for help, all math teachers know about the math taught in every grade believe it or not. If your just moved up into a new school then find another math teacher to help. explain the situation though most wont help until youve at least tryed to talk to your teacher. If they wont help (god forbid) then go and talk to the head of the math department. every school has a rank for each department. but you really should talk to your teacher first. dont be mean or insulting to her way of teaching it will just make her mad. Say you try you study the books you take notes in class (show her them to prove it) but you still cant get it. if she shruggs you off which i highly highly doubt she will then get your parents involved. have them talk to your principal. your parents shouldnt fear her. they could have her removed from status if she dosent listen to her. But you need to take certian steps to show them all you are trying to get help, not just attacking her style of teaching. good luck
i know at my school if a student asked their teacher for help the teacher HAD to help them or find someone to help them. If not they werent doing their job and could be called in for review by the board. teachers are their to teach you. you need to give them a little more credit at times. it will make school a lot easier.

Does everyone in the class have the same problem? Have you tried asking your teacher about getting homework on stuff you don't understand? Does she go over the stuff in class that you get homework on?
Well if your parents are aware of this issue then maybe they should have a parent teacher conference to voice your concerns and maybe they should meet with your principal also. There should be someone at the school to solve the problem. If you guys aren't learning from the teacher then it needs to be brought to the schools attention.
hope this helps.

right, well what you gotta do is : when she sets you the homework on something you dont understand, reasearch it. yeaahh i know its completely boring and you probably wanan be chatting to your friends or something, but if you understand it youllg et a good mark! try websites like "Bitesize Revision" and choose the topic you're stuck on. I'm dong my GCSE's at the moment and im so glad i learnt all the stuff from ages ago. if you dont understand it, then when you have tests at the end of term, you're gonna have 2 do SO much more revision than you would need 2 if u tried learning it now!
so basically, after every lesson make some notes in a little notepad about what youve learnt, reasearch anythign you dont understand. get a parent to test you until you get it right
its the only way!

I SUCKED at math. To this day I can only do basic math; addition, subtraction, multiply and divide. Everything else I need a calculator for.
There must be someone in your class who is not failing. That would be the first person to ask. The next person to ask is someone in another class who isn't failing. If that doesn't help you, then you need to buckle down and ask your principal. She might be scary, but she had to teach before she could lead the teachers, and she might be a better math teacher than your own.
DON'T go in talking bad about your math teacher. She might be really good friends with the Principal, and then your principal would be less inclined to teach you and not more.
Have you asked your parents? One of them must be halfway decent. I know for myself, I can't do math at all, but I can spell and punctuate like no one's business. My husband can't spell, but he is really good at math.
Barring all of that, you obviously have access to the internet. Search for some help with math sites that can actually break it down and teach it to you from scratch.
Good luck, Hon!

Ok, your math scedule sounds freakishly like mine...so thats a little weird. But, i would suggest maybe asking a friend to help you out on things that you don't understand.
Also, I understand that you are terrified of your principal, but you may just be misunderstanding her. You should try to talk to her anyways. Um...I guess it depends on what grade your in....But feel free to email me if you need help? I might not be able to help you....But my math is like that too, and i've managed (somehow) to have good grades in my class...so yeah. Hope i helped!

your going to have to go to the prinicipal and talk to her about the teacher. If not have your parents call the board of education and speak to them about the issue. If you wanna solve the problem your going to have to fight your fear of the prinicipal. I was scared of my prinicipal! A good idea would be since your friends are terrified of her. You can ask the principal to find you at lunch in the lunch room and you have to tell him something. and wen he/she comes over to you be like. "o yea princiapl so and so im having a lot of trouble with mr/mrs blah and so does Johnny and Jill" something like that. but i was in the same dilema. you need to either face your fear take my plan or make up your own. Glad i could help.

I suggest you listen more carefully in class and take notes that you can use at home for your homework. If she was THAT bad of a teacher, the entire class would be failing and I can only assume that is not happening. If it were, the Principal would be all over her.

If your school has any other mat h teachers go to your school consoler (sp??) and ask to get your schedule changed. Also i'm sure you could find a tutor for free, maybe like some one who took her class last year, and just likes to do math. Good luck!

Are other people in your class struggling? If everyone is attaining bad grades then it will ultimatley reflect badly on your teacher and she will be asked to step up. Could you ask someone in your family to write a letter to/call your principal? You could ask another teacher that you trust. I completely know how you feel, my math teacher is awful too. Good luck. x
