I've had that feeling before, like everyone else said it usually means it's not in far enough or is to dry. A good rule of thumb is if you can move around without telling it's there you're good to go.

Sometimes, if you use a tampon where the outer tube part or applicator is made of cardboard (like tampax), the cardboard sticks to your skin when it gets moist so it feels like you're pushing in as far as it will go since it hurts, when really it's just stuck at the begining. Remeber when you were a kid and you would put your lips on carboard stuff because it stuck and looked funny? It's the same thing really. Lubing a tampon everytime you use one is not always practacal and as you are 12, I'm assuming you won't have any KY jelly lying around anyway.

The best advice I can give is buy tampons that have a plastic applicator, like playtex, tampax pearl, tampax compac, or a generic brand. They usually cost a dollar or two more per box but the plastic is smooth and slippery so they go in very easy and comfortably.

As for the one that's in right now and hurts, take it out and try a new one, there's no reason to be uncomfortable if you don't have to.

Hope I could help :)

If you can feel it when you sit down, you did not insert it far enough. Take it out, throw it away, and try again with a new one. Because you are new at this, try lubricating the cardboard or plastic applicator first. Use K-Y jelly, olive oil, vegetable oil...you choose. Do not be afraid to insert it too far. The string will remain exposed so that you can easily remove it. Often, when we are nervous, the vaginal walls tighten making it difficult to insert a tampon. Try to relax, and consider the lubricant. Once you get the hang of it, it should never be a problem again.
As far as swimming is concerned, as long as you have a fresh tampon in, you are good to go! Have fun! (Just make sure your string is tucked in a little, and don't worry, it won't completely disappear.)

Not in far enough. You should not feel a tampon once it's inserted. Also may not be right angle. Aim towards small of your back not straight up. No big deal. just practice, practice, practice. You might want to try these positions for inserting. Try standing with one foot on the toilet gently insert into your body and then aim towards small of back. Or lie on your back (on your bed preferably) and gently insert in the correct angle. As one person said you CAN'T push it in too far. Swimming and tampons are the perfect combo.

Everything is normal what you had done when you put the tampon insert your body. And when you goes to the swimming, make sure wear a tampon. And you need changing it more often. When you goes to the pool. Put your new tampon in before you goes to the pool. After you finish your swimming. You need changing it again and put new ones in before you dress. That is my suggestion with you, honey..

its probably not far enough in. What brand are you using? I suggest trying Tampax compact. They are small & really easy to insert! They work great and I never feel them.
And yes, u will be fine going swimming. I suggest that when u are done swimming to take out the tampon and put a new one in. :-)

mmkay, well, if u feel the tampon when youre sitting it means its not in far enough, maybe the one you are using is just too big for comfort. Tampons are fine when you are swimming. Actualy they are perferred.

If you can feel it, you didn't get it in all the way. Keep trying (use a lubricant like KY) until you can push it in all the way. You may need a mirror, and you may need to move it back and forth until you get it past the two gateways. You're using "Slender," right?

yeah its normal. Its just that new feeling. You should be fine to go swimming. Don't worry. Just make sure you change it every 2-4 hours and no longer than 8 for the risk of TSS.
