Do u think that Padme would have survived child birth if she joined Anakin? I mean, they say she died of a broken heart right, so if he was there with her holding her hand and helping her maybe she would have survived. I kno it's dumb, but i would have went over to the darkside with him. If there is love it doesn't matter where you are.

I love your outlook on going to the darkside for him, that rocks. but i doubt she would have lived. I think the emperor would have seen to it she died so he could control vader. but maybe anakin would kill the emperor and they could have raised their twins to rule the galaxy with good.

not as good of a movie though

That is far from a dumb question.

The answer is No.

If she had followed Annakin into his dark side then she would have probably still died as doubt would have tormented her during delivery.

She did not die because of what he did to her but what he was telling her he would do for her in the future. She doubted that. She knew there was still good in him but she was unable to reach it. That is her broken heart.

Would these thoughts have disappeared if she had followed him? No. The way he described the future was a big what if to her. What if he killed the Emperor? What if he ruled the Galaxy? What if things went as he planned? Where would their love be in all this? That is something she could not see, could not comprehend, and was afraid to imagine.

And how long do you think the Emperor would allow her to influence Vader's mind? Vader could not truly turn to the darkside so long as love was so clearly in his heart. The Emperor would sooner or later need her dead and the children too.

So, no Padme was destined to die, if not that day then soon after.

I think your summary's pretty cool. I do know though that if Dr. (Bones) McCoy had been there, then Padme would certainly have survived and her and Darth would've gotten married in a traditional Sith Wedding... (lol) Though invited, I don't think Ben would attend :( But, then if they HAD gotten married, the whole Star Wars universe would have been very different, indeed. Padme would always be hologramming herself to wherever Darth was that day and telling him to stop by Endor for some eggs & milk. Or nagging him about destroying a planet or shining helmets with a Storm Trooper or two ;) Yep, Star Wars World would've been different. Oh, but wait! Yay! Then Luke & Leia would have been RAISED ON THE DARKSIDE! Then instead of what we now know as 'Episode IV: A New Hope', we would only know as 'Episode IV: Raised On The Darkside'
That would've been cool too ;P
And it's also the name of my new autobiography, cd, dvd and 'Where Are They Now?' Special! ;P

Well, think about it your way........

If she joined Anakin and survived, then in later Star Wars movies, Luke and Anakin would be on the same side...the dark side. That wouldn't make any sense. There wouldn't be a movie anymore.

but what about luke and leia ..... she was thinking of them, she had just heard from kenobi that anankin had just killed a bunch of younglings at the temple.....that would be like saying you would stay with the love of your life if had just murdered 20 kids at a daycare and you are pregnant..... i truly believe all the events that happen in the movie was destiny and that no matter what they may have done differently the final outcome would always be the same
