I like hip hop also, and you are right it's very diverse.
I like Nas, Kanye, Soulja boy, 50 cents, and Lupe.
great minds think alike!

I listen mostly to real hip-hop, but there are a few rappers that I do like that wouldn't go under that category.
Ex. Styles of Beyond/Linkin Park--Rockish-Rap
Chamillionaire/Outkast/T.I./Young Buck--Southern Rap
Lupe/Mos Def/Common/Talib/Nas--Real Hip-Hop
ATCQ/Gangstarr/ De La Soul-- Jazz Rap
there's a lot more, but I personally think my preferences in hip-hop are pretty diverse.

i'll agree with you in that diversity is to be applauded and respected. however, i don't like all the "hip hop" of today. i miss the days of eric b and rakim, big daddy kane, krs 1, and the like. but i do listen to new school stuff, including the southern stuff since i live in georgia. i guess it all has its merit and its season.
