my birthdays in May Bex, but my kids had 3 birthday parties a week and a half before Christmas, not sure I'd like it if it was me, a whole year before a birthday party or Christmas! lol, anyway it's hard to buy presents for the kids to take with them, WTF are you supposed to buy somebody so close to Christmas? you don't know if somebody's already bought them it for there Christmas! LOL

I'm glad my kids have their birthdays in March, it means I can buy there presents in the sales and store them away, yet it's long enough for Christmas to seem like ages ago!

No not really, as a kid my Mom would throw me a party, I live where there is a lot of snow,so we would go tobogganing and have hot chocolate and stuff. then go home to my place and play games and have cake etc. I know that it is a costly time of year but there are lots of ways to treat yourself to a nice Dec. birthday. Try planning all year and saving up for a birthday/Christmas present, like a ski trip or a holiday, let others know your plan and when the time comes it gives them an opportunity to help you out financially and at the same time acknowledging your B-day.

Unfortunately.....I believe it's true in most cases but not all. I have a brother whose birthday is December 16th and my memories growing up......his birthday celebration was always sneaked into a Christmas family gathering that was happening around the same time. His birthday gifts were covered in Christmas paper rather than birthday paper. I'm sure he felt slighted all of those years. That made me more sensitive to one of my neices who has a birthday December 21st. I always get birthday wrapping paper and never tie it into Christmas. I'm sure she appreciates the effort from all to keep her day separate from Christmas.

I am not sure about December birthdays bex....but my younger brother's birthday is on January 19th....which is only about 3 and a half weeks after Christmas....and I don't think he ever feels as though his birthday is overlooked....we always do our best for him for Christmas and his birthday (he is almost 28) - and I think he is usually happy. He has quite expensive tastes!

Lol I know quite a few people like this, and they said yes and often their birthday gets joint with Christmas and becomes like a double celebration. My birthday is in May so I don't have to worry about that lol.

My youngest was 15 today bex. Although friends and family all buy him separate pressies and cards for his birthday and we have a birthday cake and make a fuss it just seems it all to much in the space of 5 days and that he doesn't really have anything to look forward to for another year....if you get my drift.

Mind you it's is own fault really he should of waited till his due date of March 15th instead of being in such a rush to get out lol.

One thing that has happened all of my life is people giving me a nice gift and saying "oh this is your b-day and Xmas 2gether". My Dad did that this year. I mean it's cool to get great bday gifts but when Xmas gets here I have nothing left to look fwd too.
