I am 20 weeks pregnant and I don't have a proper pregnancy bump, My body is the same as usual at the moment apart from my waist getting a bit thicker so I am still wearing my usual size 6-8(uk) which I think is a 2-4(us) but the although they fit perfectly everywhere its on my waist that they are digging in. I do not have enough of a bump for maternity clothes and I can't go up a clothes size as they look too big and don't know what to do. I need smart trousers for work as they are the trousers that are causing me problems and basically want normal looking trousers just with a stretchy waist, does anyone know where I can get some or have any other ideas? I am in the uk so wont be going shopping in the us. thank u

Topshop maternity trousers are good because they fit like there normal trousers as they have adjustable bits at the side so you can make them bigger or smaller - you can order them off there website. But on the smallest setting they fit just like non maternity. There size 6 is a small 6 though so if your a 6to8 like me I would go for the 8. Also if you order off the internet you can take them back to any store if they don't fit. I tried buying one of those bands that go round the top of your trousers but the smallest size one was all baggy on me should fit when i'm further along.

I have never worn maternity clothes. I have never found any that I actually thought would be worth the money for the way they look. WHat I did both times at that akward bump phase is get a hair tie and use it on the button. I would put it through the hole and then around the button. Then all you have to do is make sure you wear a shirt that is long enough to cover. If you cant/wont wear a shirt that can cover then you can always start wearing stretch pants. This way they will fit you elsewhere but be able to stretch as needed for your bump

Sounds to me like you need a "Belly belt". It's an extender that you wear with your regular size non-maternity pants or jeans, so they'll fit you for longer while your bump is just starting to grow.
The first link below is for an Australian retailer - they'll post overseas, I think. (I'm an Aussie.) It's an Aussie-created item!
The second and third links are UK based retailers.
Belly bands (like a hoop of stretchy lycra) are also a good idea, if your tops start getting a bit small, or you want to cover your belly region to hide what you've done with your pants!

Old Navy has some pretty good maternity pants that I was able to fit when I didn't have a proper bump to fit most maternity pants. You can purchase clothes from them online at www.oldnavy.com and have them shipped. Otherwise you can go to a missies' section of any department store and get pants that have elastic waistbands.

I wore a sprint of the two. whilst i grow to be interior the 'in between' point (you recognize, the place people could think of your pregnant yet uncertain), I wore larger sizes. i presumed maternity outfits have been very almost a waste of money, so i could purchase some issues that have been on sale and that i presumed have been lovable. as quickly as I have been given larger, I wore maternity pants or stretchy pants and a mix of maternity and greater sized tops. i did no longer sense the ought to purchase distinctive maternity outfits, seeing as you purely positioned on them for a quick time. in all probability approximately 0.5 the garments I did positioned on (for the 1st being pregnant) i grow to be waiting to positioned on after being pregnant besides.

Look for something called a "belly band." It's like a wide strip of soft elastic material that you put around your midsection. That way you can wear your regular (non -maternity) pants with the button & zipper undone and no one can tell. It just looks like you're wearing a long tank top under your regular shirt. I've also seen extendor tabs - like a strip of material with a button & button hole that you use to make the waist of your pants bigger. If all that fails, eat more desserts! ;-)

Old Navy! They have maternity pants that are good for all three trimesters. I've been wearing them since my first trimester.
