Romaine lettuce, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, etc. Any dark leafy greens. Remember: no spinach, iceberg lettuce, or too much fruits.

The best food...is a diet of mixed broad leaf plants and weeds from an untreated yard. It will change with the season, etc, that is what they get in nature.

a mixed diet ensures they get a variety of minerals, etc.

Many table greens are grown hydroponically, in a chemical soup that ensures quick, clean growth, but not necessarily high nutrition or a variety of minerals, etc.

If you can grow your own..in organic potting soil under lights (your torts lights will work) or outside...that is great. Or you can buy organic at the store...mixed baby greens, the larger the variety the better.

Or...if you have wild or scrubby land around you...harvest your own for free.

There are sites that sell seed mixes for torts for growing your own.

in the wild they basically live on a diet of crack, smack and acid, but its probably safe to feed them pharmaceutical alternatives in the home. feed it a little bleach until you can get to the pharmacy then by some cocaine and get to bicarbonate soda and start making the crack. only use methadone not street smack.
