I was due to start my next month of pills on christmas day, but due to the fact that the health centre was closed i couldnt get a new packet. Now im 5 days late in taking it... and i wont be able to get a new packet of pills until after the new year. Is it ok to skip a month like this? and start it as normal next month

OOH! Bad advice from Debbie V. Yes, you can start pills whenever you want - but you WON'T be protected against pregnancy! It's like starting over - you have to use another form of Birth Control for the first month.

Start it the next month the sunday after you start your period again... it's not smart to make your body adjust to a whole new cycle. But the month you aren't on it you need to make sure you're protected if you do have sex. You won't be protected by the pill until a week after you start it again. Changing a hormonal cycle just for 1 missed month.

You can start a new packet of pills anytime you want. Your body will adjust to the new schedule.

Just know that this is what happened to me, and now I'm 15 weeks pregnant :o)
So, if you must, use a condom. I'm married and we wanted kids so we decided to see what would happen, hee hee.
