no you dont need no media maneger when you plug in your psp go to my computer and click on removabl disk g and then open it and make a folder MUSIC and put all songs in it and do same VIDEO PICTURES

2. Use the USB hookup to transfer the files from a Computer onto the PSP.*

You need to get something like Media Manager Pro, it's really easy to do.
