However unbelieveable it sounds, this is an honest-to-God true story. I will try to summarize as much as possible.

On a whim, my wife and I got married at a drive-thru in Vegas on July 4,1999 at 2:15am during a 1-month camping trip from Chicago to the northern plains, to L.A. and back. We were 19 years old and we had two friends with us (a lesbian couple). The night we got married, we drove 1.5 to 2 hours north into the desert where the nearest campgrounds were. When we got there, there were no camping spots left so we had to sleep in the car. Well, we tried to, but we fought over leg room, so I got pissed and slept outside (I didn't think about it at the time, but that put me with the rattlesnakes).
The next morning, we headed back toward Vegas with the intention of visiting the Grand Canyon on our way back to Chicago. Just as we got to the Vegas metropolitan area, I noticed my car was severely overheating, so I pulled off at the nearest exit and into a church parking lot where they had a fireworks stand. I made some phone calls to my dad who knows a lot about cars, and he recommended I replace the thermostat and gave me instructions on how to do it. As I was working on my car, two female ministers from the church started talking to us, learned about our situation, and offered to let us stay at their house. To make a long story short, we accepted and they took us out to dinner where we learned they were a lesbian couple (yes, lesbian church ministers). We got to their house and slept on their patio the first night. I don't recall what was taking so long to get the thermostat in, but we had to stay a second night. It was that night when they let my wife and I have their own bed... basically saying we could use it to consummate our marriage. Once the car was up and running, we said our goodbyes, got as far as Rocky Mountain National park and the problem started again. We slept in the car... again, and hiked 4.5 miles up the mountain pass before we found a park ranger, whose name was actually Rusty. He said it was probably just vapor lock, so we took his word for it and left. Well, just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park is Estes, Colorado, and as fate would have it, Estes, CO happened to be where one of the girls we are with goes once a year to visit her grandmother. You know... I'll just stop there. We're still together and had our first baby (our son Jackson) in September of 2006.

We didn't have a lot of money and didn't do a lot of planning, we got married at 8:00 on a Saturday evening at the church, and then went to a town about 30 miles away to go out to eat and spend our honeymoon night in a Hotel, Well when we got there....we realised it was tourist season....Hahahahaa we had to eat at the WAFFLE HOUSE, and all the Hotels were full....so we went home. :(

my hairdresser called me the afternoon before my wedding day to tell me she couldn't do my hair --- that b!tch !

Also, the night of our wedding, we were driving to our honeymoon spot and there was a HUGE golf tournament going on and we spent hours on end trying to find a room --- it was like 2:00 a.m. before we ever found a room.

It turned out fine, that was almost ten years ago and we're still deeply in love.

The dress maker brang the Bridesmaid dressed THAT day with oil stains on the front.
