you change each to an improper fraction
so it would be like:::

15/8 (u multiply the base by the denominator, add the numerator and put it over the denominator)
multiplied by

9/5

this would give u

15/8 x 9/5

u multiply that across
and get 27/8
8 goes into 27 3 times (24)
with a remainder of 3
u put the three over the denominator (8)
and that's your answer!
3 3/8!

sooo

1 7/8 (15/8) x 1 4/5 (9/5) = 27/8 a.k.a. 3 3/8!!!

hope i helped!!

This is easy if you follow my simple method. Fractions consist of numerators (Top line) and denominators (Bottom line). Numerators tell you how many there are and denominators tell your their value. So 3/3 tells you tghere are thre parts wother 1/8 each. Now tghen. Your problem

1 7/8 x 1 4/5

Here we really have

15/8 (1 whole consisting of eight parts and seven others) and 9/5 ( One whole consisting of five parts plus four others)

Now obviosly the deniminators of 1/5 and 1/8 differ so we need to find a 'common denominator, i.e. One that both numbers divide into. To find it easily multiply them together so 5 x 8 = 40. This means that 15/8 x 5 = 75/40
and 9/5 x 8 = 72/40. So

75/40 x 72/40 = 5400/1600 or 54/16 or 27/8 or 3 3/8

Get it?
