I agree, a significant part of the older generation, and even some of the younger generation, think inter racial relationships are 'wrong'. I disagree though. If you love each other, and are willing to make a commitment together for your children, it shouldn't matter if they are both white and black.
Yes, some will treat your children differently, and likely it will be cause of some heartache. But don't let a bunch of bigots stop you, your children will have as much chance of happiness as anyone else.
I commend you for your courage. Even in this day and age, there are still those who fear the different. But you are two humans who love each other, right? Then nothing, and no matter what anybody says, else matters. Your love holds you together, don't let others prejudices try to break this beautiful union apart.

There are some people who would treat them differently, but for the most part they would not have much trouble. This is 2007 (almost 2008), not 1940. Interracial couples are becoming more and more common and therefore interracial children are becoming more and more common as well.
I'm not saying there aren't still racists in this world, because there are plenty, but things now aren't like they used to be and they are a lot better. And they'll keep getting better in the future.

Well ignorant people are abound and im sure some would treat them different. I look forward to having a biracial child i have a mixed family so its nothing for us. I know in teen yrs its hardest for them cause they are tryin to find themselves but little kids dont pay attention and as adults they know where they are going so they move on. as long as you show them you love them and each other they will know that family is what matter and that love is what carries them on.

Don't fool yourself, racism is alive and well. It may not be as bad or obvious as it once was, but if you do an online search, you may be shocked. I always am. I believe that the most important determining factor in a child's life is how good both parent's skills are and if they can provide a safe, secure home and a good education. I would recommend that you both get an education and get settled in your lives before you consider having children. Just my opinion.

My 2 beautiful children are bi-racial. My mother had an issue with this at first. Saying they would be treated different and such. Honestly this world has become so diverse, that most ppl dont seem to see color anymore. As for my children they are loved and live in a stable and happy home.

im a mixed race child half white andf half black and I love it!!! Ignore what other people say, why should you be deprived of having children with the man you love because of what some stupid people say! Mixed raced children dopnt get treated any different from other children so you and your partner have as many children as you want!!!

There is no difference. Racist people use that as an excuse to keep people from dating inter-ethnically.
Check this out two gay men cannot have children naturally but a man and woman of two different ethnicity's can have children naturally. Theres your answer right there! You just have to believe it!
God Bless!

yes it's the bigots who dont want to see IR couples and they tell them that their children will be outcasts which just isnt true in order to discourage them from getting together. I know several mixed ethnicity persons and they dont have any issues any different than any other person.

You are born with your color, it is something nobody can do anything about, it is neither cultural nor social but physical in origin. Hope you will make the right choice for your children, as they cannot choose the color of their birthday suit.
