What happens is that yesterday me and my family went shopping yesterday (we go every time we can because we live in Mexico but we live really REALLY close to San Luis Arizona and shop in Yuma) , so i saw it as the perfect chance to look if there we're a Nintendo Wii left after this holiday so i could get one for me, i check almost every store that could have it, but all were sold out, so before going home i decided to go to Game Stop and check out what did they have, so i saw 2 Nintendo Wii Box (the ones you can pick up and take to the desk so they can give you a copy) hanging out in the store, so i asked if they still had some, but they told me they were sold out (aparently) and so i lefy the store.
When i arrived home i created an iTrackr account in hopes of having luck next time, but then the iTrackr says that that GameStop has Nintendo Wii in stock which of course made me mad.

from what i understand, all gamestops are supposed to say that they have it in stock when you check online.

then they give you some type of voucher for it, for when they physically get it in.

while it is possible they were holding systems for themselves, because they get a discount, it is in the company's best interest to sell it to someone that does NOT get a discount - which is why most retailers are actually not allowed to hold merchandise for their own employees (though usually the employees don't even know that)

as far as employees being rude, besides the fact that they _might_ have been honest with you, that's a case by case judgement. most of the people that work in the stores that i go to are nice to me, because i don't ask if there are any mario games on ps2. i also generally help their customers because i know for a fact that quite often, i have better answers than they do.

anyway, the wiis really are still hard to find, not just for you, but for everyone. go into a busy gamestop during a busy time, and i can guarantee you that a few people will ask if they have wiis, and will walk away sad and dejected..

yes they have always been that rude, its not just racism. although i wont say its nott.

all video game store employees feel superior to buyers and yet dont have ANY answers their corporate masters install in their tiny brains. if you find a good cleck buy only from him, its worth the extra trips for excellent tips and not buying expensive mistakes. i was also there yesterday (but in ohio and the system said they had them. what they have is a wish list. you can get on it and wait for a wii. but not likely to get one soon; you better off looking at kmart and walmart. that's where i got mine plus the insurance thing. game stop is sucky at honoring reciepts. and even if the coporate say do it, the employees may steer you wrong in order to avoid thinking to hard!

It could have been in the back room and not unpacked yet. I work in retail and we get shipment of Fridays but it's not out in the store until Tuesday morning. The GameStop employees are pretty nice at my mall...Try to be optimistic or buy it offlline? Less hassle.

Most of the employees hold them to sell on ebay ...the only way you can get lucky is if the manager is working at the time of shipment...Ebay demand should be going down as the hassle of finding them and the need to have it for christmas gifts dies out... hopefully the ebay marketers will find something new to sell...

It may have been in stock at the warehouse and they may be able to ship it to the store but it may not be at the store location.
