I know the general rule of etiquette here, but we want personal opinions.

If your friend/sister/cousin was getting married in a private ceremony (15 closest family members invited), would you be offended if you were invited to the reception.. but not to the ceremony?

Should not have included "sister" in the question. haha. Scratch that.

not if it was explained in a courteous way -

if i was left in the dark as to why the private ceremony was so exclusive and felt "barred" from it- then, yes, perhaps I would

I actually wouldn't mind, I know if I wasnt' invited at all I'd be saying "they should have at least invited to the reception!" I think it's fine and maybe they had to split some people to be able to invite everyone.

i would be a little sad, but not offended, if they're really close to you even though they are a friend then they should be able to come. i'm sure someone could squeeze in a few extra people even though it's a private ceremony.

If there is only so much room for a small wedding, then I would not be offended in the least. You have still been included in the celebration.

I was about to say if it was my sister then I would be mad. No I would not be offended if it was my friend or cousin. They would just have their family with them. And I would see pictures so I would be cool
