I would like to order some David Austin English roses for spring planting. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive place to buy them, catalog or online?

What she said^ . There are none that are "inexpensive" . They cost more than most , but are well worth it ! Along with being absolutely gorgeous , the fragrance of many of them, is heavenly ! (David Austin for president of the universe!) They are what roses should be .

Here's a few I know are very good :

Mary Rose ( survived -26F here, even above the snow line.)
Heritage
Brother Cadfael
English Garden
Fair Bianca
Golden Celebration
Graham Thomas
Perdita
The Pilgrim
Abraham Darby ( a little weak, here in upstate NY ,Zones 5a/4b , but always comes through . Would be better a little farther south or west (Finger Lakes- OK) Fragrance? - the best!)

I order direct from David Austin and Heirloom roses who also sells DA.
http://www.davidaustinroses.com/american/ (America)
http://www.davidaustinroses.com/english/ (England)
http://www.heirloomroses.com/cgi/browse.cgi?page=cat&cat=English+Roses
I've ordered roses from both and have been very happy.
I'm expecting 4 roses this March from David Austin. They only ship when the time is appropriate so I've had them on order since September. I think you can get them right away, but they won't guarentee them unless you wait for them to ship them during the best possible time for their roses to be planted.

Good Luck
