I usually say there three reasons why people go to a bar, or pub (public)
To get drunk. The Feeling of being drunk is a good bit of fun, you know.
To get laid - self explanatory.
To blow off steam - this could include fighting, or just being boisterous, or maybe even just brooding.
But as to why someone specifically drinks, have you considered they are drinking without a reason? They know they like a drink, the same way a kid like's a candy bar.

some might but don't think its main reason why most drink .
mostly the bar scene is run by cool people and teens want to be cool , so they drink cool beer , cool drinks /shots . the bar scene is all about being cool i've found .
