I have the Sims 2 and Sims 2 Seasons and it installs perfectly. However, whenever I play the game I can only play for thirty minutes or so and then my computer shuts down. What is wrong?

Maybe your computer does not have enough space to hold all the software so it shuts down, or maybe your sims 2 seasons was a faulty, or if you have yahoo messenger or aim or some sort of chatting thing if someone signs on or off then there is usually a pop up from the bottom of your screen that says they are on or off, and when the pop up pops up my sims will usually shut down because of the pop up... it is kinda wierd but it happened a lot.

Another reason might be because your sims has a scratch or dust on it, clean it out then try again, or turn off your computer and turn it on again it usually works after that.

Your Computer might be using The "Self Safe Shut Down".
It usually happens When Your computer is over heating, But I might be Wrong about your PC. This happens to me On a game GUNZ(But after playing a few hours because I use the max setings).

Well, do you have Vista? If so i would advise you to run the Sims 2 as the Admin.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the game. Also if you can try to repair the files.

Thats all the help i can give without actually being there to look at it, good luck.

make sure you met the minimum requirements of the games. you can get it checked. the game can be also the prob. check that there are no scratches or anything like that. if that still happens, go back to the store where you bought it and ask for another copy.

well if your computer literally SHUTS DOWN then I don't think I can help, but if your computer just minimizes the sims then it's probably just making more virtual memory. it has nothing to do with the game, it's just your computer.

Seasons is so graphic intense that your pc might not be able to handle the game for more than 30mn.
