Beer, cars and guns don't kill people. People do.
People kill each other with all sorts of implements...there is no call to ban cars, alcohol or beer glasses as a result of the estimated 2.6 million DUI crashes annually in the US including 16,600 DUI deaths and 308,000 DUI injuries a year. Alcohol is a major contributor for 50% of all homicides and rapes, 62 percent of assaults, and 30 percent of suicides. Do we blame the drinker ot the car? The drink of course.
Consider the 38,500 car crash fatalities a year - 40% of which are drunk driving fatalities - and the 2.69 million car crash injuries. Do we blame the driver or the car? The driver of course.
Tthere are approximately 31,000 firearm deaths per year including 16,000 suicides and approximately 79,000 injuries (numbers rounded). In the U.S. for 2001, there were 29,573 deaths from firearms, distributed as follows by mode of death: Suicide 16,869; Homicide 11,348; Accident 802; Legal Intervention 323; Undetermined 231.(CDC, 2004).
Do we blame the shooter or the gun. The gun of course…WHAT!
People kill people. The gun is the tool or method used.

confident, weapons do make killing greater handy. yet with that being stated, reckoning on the circumstances of a given concern this may be an mind-blowing ingredient. case in point what might desire to a one hundred sixty pound guy do to preserve himself from a 200 pound attacker, the respond is purely no longer lots, except he exchange into nicely schooled in some sort of martial artwork (which maximum persons are not) or he had a weapon including a firearm that would make potential a secondary ingredient. And as for knife assaults, it does not take all that lots potential to wield a knife or to inflict deadly wounds with one if it extremely is sharp. to no longer point out, in semi-experienced palms knife assaults could have purely as intense a value of "powerful homicide tries" as you phrased it, as you could with a firearm.

It's an accurate statement. The same holds true for hammers, axes, piano wire garrots, and C-4. All of those tools - and guns - require either a criminal or a psycho to activate them before they will kill.

well, look how many people were killed and all the damge that was done and the war that was caused by a few men with boxcutters!!!

if i would have been there with my certified registered conceal carry permit gun i would have taken em out!!!

but i would have been busted before even getting on the plane!!!

those terrorist must have been very confident that noone could do any harm to them, since they knew no-one was armed!!!

same as the criminals on the streets, yet if they know they are in a state that allows its citizens to arm and protect themselves, well not so much confidence in committing a crime, right??!!!

some people just have an unneccesary fear of guns, with the proper training and education you would see how silly that fear is!!!

and just because you have that inner fear and are uninformed, dont force me to go along with giving up one of my main constitutional rights!!!

of course thats just my opinion!!!

Yes. And, people killed people-with rocks, sticks, etc-for millions of years before guns were invented. If every gun vanished off the planet today, people would still kill people using: hands, feet, sticks, rocks, pop bottles, cars, etc, etc, etc, etc.

That's the illogic use dby pro gun fanatics. Obviously, it takes both the person and the gun. But the statistical relationship between the availability of guns and gun deaths is very, very clear.
