"telemarketers"? they really know how to irritate a person. they call you at the busiest times of the day, when youre either eating supper or tending to your familys troubles.after you cut them off you think its the end of it ? no way, they keep your phone number and haunt you to death. i hang up on them then i take the phone off the hook..dont these people have a life?

I love when they call at 8:55 (they're not allowed to call after 9:00). Yesterday the same number called 6 times in 3 hours. I got so mad I put the phone up to my vacuum cleaner and turned it on. They didn't call after that!

Use the do not call registry, but be aware of what u sign up for that can remove u from that list.
Unfortunately, selling things via telemarketing MUST work cause it's these folk's job. Just quickly and politely tell em u r not interested. or use caller id. oh, and tell them to remove your name and number from their list, they are legally supposed to comply....

There is a national do not call website that you can add your name to the list so that your phone number will not be able to call you without fear of prosecution. I believe the address is donotcall.org (maybe .gov). Try it. By the way, be sure to include your cell number on that list.

Sell them a vacuum. Always amusing, today one called at 7 am and would not give up! I ended up throwing the phone in a half baked/asleep rage.

Solution-Get on the DO NOT CALL national list. That's what 98 % of the USA has done.

Don't get them. I am on my state and national "no call" list,
.The Attorney General here in Missouri, USA is very active in going after violators.

I just went on the National Do Not Call Registry (USA) and problem solved!
https://www.donotcall.gov/
Until that point, I did as Jerry did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hllDWSbuDsQ
