1998: Moss was the 21st overall pick when he should have been a top 5.

1985: Rice was the 16th overall when he should have been only the 2nd after Bruce Smith (considering the Bills needs).

Since the moment when none of them were the first WR taken in the draft, it's a steal.

Wait, seriously?

Are you kidding?

Given what he did relative to his position, Jerry Rice is possibly the greatest football PLAYER ever.

Randy Moss is probably the best receiver at the present time, but there's no comparison. Rice would have been a bigger draft steal even if he cost your team every single pick for that season and the season after.

Furthermore, what did Minnesota ever even DO with Moss?

And San Francisco with Rice?

If anyone got a steal with Moss, it was the Patriots.

Well, Jerry Rice played for 20 years, Randy Moss has been playing for 10. We'll see what Randy Moss' numbers look like at the end of his career. I think Randy Moss is more explosive, but Jerry Rice is still the greatest ever. He has records that might never be broken. Jerry Rice is in a class of his own. He was the greatest ever. Randy Moss may never get to that level, nobody may ever get there. Jerry Rice holds every major recieving record out there, besides the single season TD, but he did that in 12 games.

Randy Moss is possibly top 10 all time, but not at Jerry Rice's level.

To reitterate Rice had 22 td's in a 12 game season it took Moss16 games to get 23 td's. but not nowing that was gonna happen out of college you have to look at stats and what they did for each team; Moss was drafted on a team that had no one but him, Rice on the other hand was drafted into a dynasty he had Craig, Taylor, Clark and a ton of other stars during his career. The question ends up being could Rice have done what Moss or TO for that matter did with any other team? but if you go by current stats and all the things we know now it can't be anyone else but Rice. (There is just to many factors to properly answer this question)

Of the two, Rice was the real steal in the draft. Everyone knew about Moss and that he would go high; he only slipped down to as low as he did because teams were scared of some disciplinary problems.

Rice was a little-known out of just as little-known Mississippi Valley State. Few could have known that he would turn out to be perhaps the best WR of all time.

Rice was a much better reciever but remember that all New England had to give up for Randy Moss was a 4th round draft pick.So I think that the Patriots got a better deal than the 49ers did

everyone knew moss was gonna be good...rice came outta nowhere, and he had 22 td's in a 12 game strike shortened year. if rice had a full season moss wouldn't have even came close. just another lame record by the cheaters.

screw the whiners and the cheaters
