Pretty much a vasectomy is a "piece of cake". I had mine on a Friday afternoon. I was back to work on Monday.

They had given me a prescription for a pain killer. I am allergic to most narcotics, so they wrote it for some non-narcotic pain killer. When Walgreen's told me the price was something like $30 (I don't have insurance). I decided to skip the pain killer, and took aspirin. It only hurt when I stood up suddenly. Otherwise it was nothing.

Just make sure you follow instructions exactly. No you can't be weightlifting, or playing softball on the weekend after your vasectomy. Also don't take any advise form anyone that never had one.

That was 20 years ago next march. I am so happy that I did it.

BTW: There is no scar.

The doctor I went to gave me 20 mg Valium to take before I got there. I couldn't hit my butt with either hand and my wife had to drive me, however things were painless when the cutting went on. Of course my balls swelled up seemingly to the size of bowling balls, and I was down for the next couple of days. But I remember it as more inconvenient than painful.
But make sure you get some valium before you go, because I think I would've chickened out and run from the office if I hadn't taken it.

no it is just an in and out procedure in a doctors office unlike a woman to get a hysterectomy and then us women have to go and have surgery

My son just got one last week. He was more concerned about the hot nurse shaving him than the pain, lol. He didn't care for it too much, though.
