we would go to hotels and have sex. it lasted 3years. The affair ended 9 years ago. When the affair ended, he still occassionally calls me once in awhile to see how I'm doing....when he calls I'm nice to him, keeping it casual...just wondering why ans what makes him want to call

There could be lots of reasons he could want sex again and he figured you did it once for 3 years so if all else fails call you
I dont' mean to be mean but you were both wrong in this but I dont' think he's a decent man No Man that would cheat on his wife is a decent guy
And Same Goes for a woman

Forget the "he still cares and he's a decent man" line. He's married. Good men don't cheat, only losers do.
He is hoping you'll suggest getting together, and he hopes that you never find anyone else, because one of these days he might divorce his wife and need more booty before he moves on to find another woman. He's the same as the trailer trash down the road. He's married and treats his wife like crap. What a jerk.

Missing those "Cheatin' Days" !! He's probably had Other affairs besides with you. His poor wife. Hope she catches on to him soon. Next time he calls, tell him that is a part of your Past you don't care to "revisit". Maybe he'll get the hint and Not Call you again. Good Luck !!!

I just hope you already realized the mistake that both of you did 9 yrs ago. If you dont want to go through the same mistake again don't keep your conversation with him anymore. You might fall on him again! Temptations(those that invite us to fall) come to make us better by responding right not by allowing us to be tempted.

Duh! You were 'putting out' and now he thinks he can have you any time he wants! You 'made your bed' now you have to put up with him calling to check on you. If you hadn't 'done the dirty' on your hubby then you wouldn't be getting these calls would you!

i think he is calling because he still wants to hook up. I wouldn't even talk to him anymore unless you are ok with hooking up with him yet.
