Find a young, local, FEMALE photographer that is starting up a buisiness. Most are willing to give you free prints if you model for their photos. Start up a portfolio with these.

Be VERY WISE in choosing a photographer and NEVER go alone.

The first thing you need to do is build a portfolio. Check with local photographers to do this. Find clients that need your services such advertising agencies, book publishers, photography studios. Also see if there is a modeling agency in your area. Check with the local colleges and see if they need models for art classes. Hope this helps! You also need to develop your own style and look! Good luck!

America's Next Top Model... Starring Tyra Banks! The show keeps you off of your seat and the action makes you want to keep doing. They start off with aboout 200 people and then you meet the pannal, then they pick like 50 people. you go to a really nice house and you model until you get sent home. It seems like really fun but i'm not old enough to go on.

Definitly start small,no one gets discovered right away. Start by putting maybe a ad in the newspaper or a flyer and put them in peoples mail box. Only put a email address for saftey reason. And take every opurtunity you are given. Also look out for modeling auditions

Take pics of yourself. Don't be wearing alot of makeup. Make it look like you are not wearing any. Send those pics to every agency online or around you. That's all I can tell you for now. It is hard to get into.

The information below is from a message I sent to a friend in Toronto, encouraging her to explore modeling. I gathered the information from Yahoo Yellow Pages. You can readily do the same in your locality.

Carolyn's Model & Talent Agency Ltd

A model must no longer look a specific way in order to succeed. Looks can range from character to cutie. As lifestyles change, so do the trends in advertising, television commercials, print ads and fashion. Socioeconomic trends plays an important role in determining which looks will be in demand. Model & Talent Agents decide who to represent based on their clients current demands. Judging an individual's potential for success can be difficult in this field. Often more important than any other physical feature is attitude, personality and a sparkle from within. This will inspire decision makers to book the appropriate model/talent. Everyone has their own look which makes them unique. The modelling field is very diversified and utilizes people of many different looks and talents. Persistence and professionalism are the keys to success.

You can start by mailing a photo(s) to us with a letter stating your measurements, age, tel #, availability and goals in this industry... OR, better yet, call us and make an appointment so that we can see you in person... we will need to meet you anyway!

What are the requirements?

Typically, a female fashion model is 5' 8" to 5' 11" tall, size 3-6, and approximately 15 to 25 years of age. Fashion models work internationally and locally in runways shows, showroom modelling, editorial and fashion print (such as magazines, advertising, and some catalogs), and many also do TV commercials.

Female Petites are generally 5' 5" to 5' 7", ages 15-25 and used in commercial & fashion print and catalog.

Commercial models, females or males, can be of any age and any size and have more of a "real people" look for everyday product and service advertising.

Actors can be any age and size.
All of the above should be fit, have clear skin, healthy hair and good teeth.
