No sites are considerably safe when downloading music. I usually go to the library and rip the songs from the CD to my music library- You get a lot more songs at once and it is safer. I realize this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but i hope it helped.

Don't know if it is ever completely safe to download songs free.
If you want single songs try limewire.
If you want full albums go here

i have to say itunes its the safest i kno... napster is pretty good too. just be careful if u want to get music from a site u dont have to pay on, a lot of those sites give your computer viruses. its happened to my sister. not too fun

unless your paying for it not site is safe enough and a lot of those sites will mess your computer up and give you viruses. So just be careful!

most of these "free" sites are dangerous to use, especially "limewire". my computer was swamped with viruses after using it for three months.
