i doubt this one will happen. biggs wasn't perhaps in the same league as Huntley. i think he will die in prison. of course given the kind of politicians we have nothing would surprise me. throw in a couple of do gooder social workers and they will try to convince us it is the humane and civilised thing to do.

Biggs robbed a train. Huntley tortured, raped and killed a couple of 10 year old girls. Not quite on the same level really is it? If Biggs wants to die with his family, it's understandable as he is no longer a danger to anyone. Huntley will still be a danger to the public and he should die in jail. F**k him. Actually, to put it another way they could release Huntley - straight into the waiting mob that will torture and rip him to pieces, thus giving him a slow painful death.

Huntley should rot in prison until he's dead.
Edit: Your question was about Ian Huntley, hence my answer. Ronald Biggs has spent x years in prison, with a break in between when he was in Brazil. Either way, he has served about as long in prison as someone who carries out a robbery would if sentenced today. He was not charged with any offence concerning the injury to the railway man.

The two cases are completely different. Biggs didn't kill anyone. The train driver died of leukaemia several years later, not from being hit over the head. And it wasn't Biggs who hit him. He was a criminal yes and deserved to spend time in jail, but 30 years for armed robbery (and he wasn't one of the main ringleaders, even if he is now the most notorious) was excessive to say the least. Huntley killed two young girls and who knows what he did to them beforehand. He disposed of their bodies and lied about it. He also has been linked to other sexual offences. He should never be let out of jail.

Ian Huntley never ever. Ron Briggs I am not overly sympathetic he laughed at us for years after doing a runner. As a result of the crime he was involved in a man had his life cut short because he never properly recovered from his injuries. Had he taken his sentence like a man he would have been free long ago and maybe on T.V. as a pundit or some sort

Ian Huntley was a double murderer, and not only that a double child killer. To compare him with Ronnie Biggs is an insult to a 79 year old robber. No question of compassion in this case, he must serve his time and die in jail

But, M'Lud - Biggs didn't kill anyone. In fact, as far as I can make out, the only violence was the driver being coshed - no excuse I know. Whereas, that tosser Huntley murdered TWO innocent wee girls. So yes - let Biggs out for the remainder of his days and keep Huntley exactly where he is for the remainder of his!

Er Hello!!! How can you compare a frail old train robber to an evil child killer? Huntley should never be let out after what he did to those two little girls.Though I have no doubt that the do-gooder PC brigade that is running amok in this country will make sure Huntley does get released. Can't be seen to be infringing a monster's human rights now can we?!!!

No. Huntley is a permanent danger to the public at large because of his untreatable psychosexual disorder and because he murdered in cold blood.
Don't think Biggs should be allowed out to be with his family either.

Ronnie Biggs is a train robber not a cold blooded baby killer. BIG difference. If Huntley ever got out he would be dead in 5 mins.
