Carotenemia is an excess of beta-carotene in the blood. It is a common and mostly harmless condition in infants usually appearing when infants begin to eat solids. When they eat too many foods containing beta-carotene (e.g. pumpkin, carrot, most yellow or orange vegetables), the baby receives too much beta-carotene and some is deposited in the skin. This gives the skin a yellow or orange coloring. Whereas this condition is usually harmless, it is important to distinguish it from jaundice or other very serious conditions which also cause yellow skin or orange skin. Note that beta-carotene excess should not cause yellow eyes whereas jaundice usually does, though there are exceptions. Always seek prompt professional medical advice about any discoloration of your child's skin.

Diet can cause temporary changes in skin color, with the excess consumption of carrots (or any food containing beta carotene) causing an orange tinge being the best known example. But people who consume colloidal silver for its supposed health effects have been known to turn blue.

Diet has little or no effect on the degree of melanin in your skin, although some medical conditions may.

If you don't do something now, your skin will go darker because the it is constantly producing melanin which makes the dark pigments on our skin . You can suppress the production of melanin using papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are available online. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too. Not permanent. If you, say, eat too many carrots you may get an orange tint to your skin. Once you adjust your diet your skin tone would return to normal.

Yes; many species' color changes according to their diet. The most notable are flamingos, whose orange color ranges from bright to dull according to their diet. I have also seen people develop an orange cast to their skin who they are on diets high in beta-carotene.
