i bought a used couch, there isn't any stains but i want to just clean it because it is used. i dont have a steam cleaner or anything fancy, just some chemicals and a vacuum. thank you for your answers!

buy a can of upholster cleaner, spray it on scrub with a brush vac, it off

If it is water cleanable, rent a machine like "Rug Doctor" with the upholstery attachment. You can get upholstery cleaning solution there, too.

attempt Spot Shot. it rather is a carpet purifier yet i exploit it on my couches each and all the time (incredibly whilst my nephew visits!). it works large! attempt in a nook or the back of a cushion first to be sure settee textile is shade-quickly.

I use a product called "ForceField", dry cleaning fluid for fine fabrics, and it is excellent.
