I want to get a laptop and I made the one i want on dell.com. It was a Dell Inspiron 1420 and the total was $989 with : 1 GB Hard drive, 120 memory, cd and dvd writer, high speed wireless card and it was 14.1 screen.
i found this laptop on circuit city and its a sony.

which laptop is better to buy? i mean the Sony one has double gb (the dell has 1 gb the sony has 2 gb and the memory is 200 gb in the song). is sony better than dell and is it reliable for like 3-5 years?
Which one would you recommend?

is up to u if the money is enough to buy the sony go ahead and buy it, to me sony is a better computer.

I have had bad experiences with Sony Vaio laptops over the past three years. The pricing appears to be better for Sony, but I will not buy one again.

i trust dell more. I once had a sony laptop and in a week the laptop got toasted, and i don't game that much. I just use it for work. Dells supports way better too. remember sony was never meant for making laptops, just tvs.

whatever the case, dell should be the number 1 priority
remember, quality is better the quantity.
i've got many friends who bought sony laptops.....and they had many problems.
i think dell is the better one
