It is on the first base side,since most batters are retired before reaching first base it is a shorter walk back to the dugout for the home team.

There you go, how mayn tiems does it need to be said that the home dugout is on the first base side. And I bet that it will always be on the first base side, and I bet even if you were to see a map of Yankee Stadiumm, I bet that it will even say it there to, Yankees. But as long as players know the right way to go to get to the right lockeroom, to lead to the right dugout.
