That doesn't indicate mental problems.

That is the only way babies can communicate.

This is what I did when my son cried.

1. Did he need to be changed
2. Is he hungry
3. Does it seem to hot or cold in his room
4. Does he seem like he might be sick
5. Hold him and play with him for awhile until he settled down.

Your baby might have colic.

My first kid was a crier. She could not fall asleep without 20 m of crying. I still don't know why.

My nephew had crying problems, too. But his were related to his mom's diet, and whatever else would make a healthy child cry. She turned on the vacuum, and that would comfort him, or sat him in his car seat atop the dryer.

I don't know why your child is crying, so I can't say whether it's okay or not. If the child is in pain, obviously this is a problem. If you've brought him to the dr. and the dr. can't find a problem, I pity you because I know how nerve-wracking it is to have a baby screaming in the house.

I'd encourage you to research and find moms like yourself and maybe they have some good advice. Research medical articles about kids who cry. Try laying your baby on his tummy or side. Some babies are comforted when their heads are pressing against the side of the crib (like in the womb). Try wrapping him fairly tight in a blanket. Play some baby music while he sleeps. Play a tape of your voice talking and singing, and rub his blanket on you or spritz it with your perfume so he'll think you are near. Pat his back while he's on his tummy. You've probably tried all this, but it worked for us.

Take care! Find someone to watch baby and go get a mani/pedi & facial.

Contrary to what some mother's believe, it's been proven scientifically that it's better to hold and comfort a crying baby instead of letting them "cry it out". You will NOT spoil an infant by rocking them and soothing them. The baby might have colic or might not be feeling well. If you think the baby might not be feeling well, call your pediatrician for advice. Colic is common in infants and can cause them to cry for long periods of time. Pick the baby up and rock and comfort the baby. Babies also like rhythm so take the baby for a car ride and see if that helps the baby sleep.

Ask someone to help you, either your doctor or medical centre.
This can be something that needs a professional eye.
Babies normally are contented and happy.
There could be many reasons for the babies discomfort,
heat, cold, hungry, sore tummy, wind, uncomfortable, or some problems internally, or if the parents have taken drugs or alcohol when baby in womb, this would effect the baby.

Check with your doctor, this is much better addressed in this way, it will relax you, and a relax happy mother equals a relaxed happy baby.

Blessings to you

They're usually fine. Ask the child's doctor about it if you are concerned. If they are safe, dry, fed, and not too hot or cold, then you can let them cry for a while. Sometimes they need to just vent.
