why does everyone moan about it, if the police arrest 1 person then they have to arrest half of england and any other country that uses the program.
if it is so illegal why does the government just ban programs like it

Limewire is not illegal. Sharing files isn't even illegal. It's sharing COPYRIGHTED files that is illegal. Limewire isn't illegal for the same reason cars aren't illegal - it's not THEIR fault if people use it for an illegal purpose, as it also has legal purposes, people could for instance share music they created themselves. (the old Napster DIDN'T have a way to use it legally, which is why it was shut down)
The police COULD make an example of you - make you into one of those people who's fined stupid amounts of money and be in debt for the rest of your life, but it's unlikely to be you of course.

Limewire is not illegal. Using it to trade copy writed materials like songs without the copy right owners permission is against civil law.
Generally the RIAA sues people at random for doing this. You always lose and the courts awarded big damages to the RIAA.
I have never heard of the police arresting some one for using Lime wire to trade songs.
It's perfectly legal to use Lime wire to share your family photographs or a song you wrote and recorded yourself or a computer program you wrote.
It's not Lime wire that's illegal; it's what you do with it that can get you into trouble.

First it is such a big job trying to find every single internet site that is illegal, it aint funny. Secondly every time you go to an internet site, your computer's specific address is kept in a digital signature on the mainframe. A lot of organiztions will wait until they have enough people to bust before thay do anything about it. If you don't care, then keep going to it. If it worries you then stop going to it. Bottom line.

It's the same reason why'd we've had the war on drugs for so many years... and the problem never gets resolved while our tax money goes to stupid organizations that do nothing.
The chances are very slim. Just do i what i do. Once you download the songs move them to another folder...the more files you share on limewire the more likely you are to get caught.
