The fact that you are asking this question and that others are here to ponder it reveals the answer.

The purpose of human existence is to understand and become aware.

First off, we didn't ask to be put here, by being born. We're the offspring of two people, who hopefully wanted to have us, and raise us. Our purpose in life, is survival, the best to our ability. Unforetunately, some people take short cuts, and chosen wrong pathes. Nobody has an instruction manual, short of the Ten Commandments. That's actually a good path, IF everybody did it. Some do, some don't, by their own free will. We CAN DO ANYTHING WE WANT. The deal breaker is, if you pick the wrong thing to do. We are to complex to be an 'ACCIDENT.' Each day is a gift, if you have good health, a good mind, and a roof over your head. I'll admit it, I'm not perfect. My biggest fault is giving bad answers on this site, and getting a violation notice. It's to "those" who push the envelope, and are asking for it. Sometimes I think we're the ones behind the bars, being watched, and don't even know it. They're back far enough, with their fingers in their ears, waiting for the big boom when we go crazy and do our planet in. Until then, I'll struggle along as an Army of one, and try and not get anymore citations on this great site. Peace, Dennis B.

Universe never came by chance

All that is happening is not by chance

Darwins theory is a theory only, its not the law

Religion is a lable for someone

If there was no God , we might have invented it.
You were born by chance and you die by chance.

Athiest will try o convert you to their belief, even they know there is no sch thing as belief

All the animals and vegetation came by chance.?

BUT But but,

a DNA/Seed of a tree doesnt give birth to human beings and no tree is born through a human seed

All the Universe is in motion and still in unison. Stars and planets travl at enormous speed and our world is still intact

There is no chaos in the univers, it is cosmos

The law of gravity and motion is valid in all parts of our universe

The trignomatical equations can determine the distance of stars from our earth

There is no haphazardness in the universe

There is matter and anti matter

There is life and there is death

SO So so

There must be a pupose to life

A table is creation of a carpentor. He had worked on wood to convert it into a table

Have you ever seen trees getting converted to a beautiul table or vice versa?

Human beings are born , they live and die.

Some are born rich, some are born poor

THUS Thus thus

There must be a logical reason, why all is happening in a very sequential and organised manner

For this there must be mastermind behind.

This mastermind is the greatest and controls everything

We must respect this mastermind, For he has created us like any other thing and gave us brains to think, analyse and either follow or break the laws provided to us by our elders and specially gifted peoples

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO RESPECT/ WORSHIP THIS MASTERMIND AND DO THINGS WHICH DO NOT HARM OTHERS AND WAIT TO BE REWARDED OR PUNISHED

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Our purpose in life is to know God and offer Him praises, to love God with all our heart minds and souls, to give Him glory and to serve Him with a grateful heart.

The purpose of life first of all is to live according to the will of God! and served God with your whole heart! I mean everything that you do you dedicate it to God! Its fruitless to live in this life without Him. You became confused and manipulated by this World!

I agree with a lot of other answers. I think we are a soul having a human experience. I think our purpose is to gain virtues and positive attributes. Done by serving mankind i suppose.

We are a fluke of the universe and there is no purpose except to live and accumulate experiences.

To live life, to learn, to experience, to help, to learn, to overcome challenges, to make a difference, to make our own lives, to learn to be our own person, to have an impact or a good influence on another, or more than one person, to prepare another for the road ahead, which is life, to dream and accomplish your dream, to make history... Things like that.
