you would think they are the same from the specs but why does one cost more then the other, and these are pretty good laptops right?

Well... it depends upon what you want to use the laptop for. The 2nd one has a faster Intel dual-core CPU, and the Integrated Intel GMA X3100 is actually better (to my surprise) than the Radeon X1250 chipset on the first one.

For most purposes like web browsing, email, movie clips etc- the Extensa with its AMD 64 X2 processor and ATI Radeon would be fine. It will perform well, and it costs less.

If you're doing heavy number crunching, compiling lots of code or 3D gaming, then the 2nd machine has more horsepower. For causal users that extra speed would go unnoticed most of the time.

The Best one is TOSHIBA SATELLITE or QOSMIO that wud be the best 1 4 u i feel so .. even i checked out with the hp dealer. they said me that TOSHIBA is the nice 1 .. thanx
