It has been correctly stated that the 44 is the UK international dialling code. Indeed it is, but the suggestion that it can be removed from numbers stored on mobile phones and replaced by 0 if the caller is in the UK is pointless, and unwise.

Many people use the phone's directory numbers to dial out, and whether they are located in the UK or overseas, this +44 will work. If however you go out of the country, and try to call UK, you will need that +44 as a matter of course. The recommendation is that anyone using a mobile, should place the numbers in the phone's directory in the full hierarchical format, (+00 nnn)so that whether home or overseas, they will still phone out to the right number.

It is much easier to use this format when entering the number originally, rather than having to edit all your phone numbers when you travel.

44 is the international calling code for the UK.

In the UK, non-local numbers have a 0 in front when calling within the UK. (077-, 078- etc for mobiles). That 0 is dropped when calling the same number from outside the UK.

Then it would be 044 77-, 044 78-.

It means addon your international dialing code, then 44, eg: 01234 567899 would from the US be 00 44 1234 567899

On mobiles I'd guess they maybe do the international dialing code bit automatically if required inside the phone.

+44 is the dialling code from abroad. The mobile doesn't know where the text/call has come from or going to.

When you get a text from someone's whose number you don't have, they come through as +44 until you edit the +44 and change it to 07.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH3YZ

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

It's the international country code for the UK.

To see how to dial London, see this link, scroll down to where it says on left side "Dialling codes":

If you key in the number your calling, you'll be given a breakdown of the what are all the different parts of the international number you have to dial.
