so i have a compaq presario 1500 laptop with xp home edition on it and i just took it to the computer shop to have it cleaned out and now it woulnt let me watch dvds on it. so i was wonderig if there is something i need to download or install for free to let me watch dvds on it again

Download and instal the VLC player, plays about anything, DVDs video files of all forms , , , and quite small I belive

Ask google for it

Try doing a system restore to the time before you sent it in to be cleaned. If that doesn't work, then go to your manufactuer's website & download a DVD decoder pack.
