No, he does not. But this is more complicated & not only Bush's fault. A positive move to bring progress to the Palestinian issue would require a major shift in the US Middle East policy & a change of attitude towards Israel & AIPAC.

God Bless

With all the opposition and the complexity of things, GB is doing a damn good job! And I see Blair in the news just as much now.

As long as there are Palestinians who will accept nothing short of the elimination of Israel, no one, chutzpah or not, is going to have any kind of lasting influence.
Even if both parties came to an agreement tomorrow, the next day some militant would blow up an Israeli restaurant or bus full of kids or launch rockets into an Israeli neighborhood.
Then we would be right back where we started.

No and I say this because he has done nothing yet for the years in office and I dont see him starting any new peace talks, so I would have to say no.

Now that Blair is out of office, I don't think he could be a factor. I don't know that it matters who intervenes I think it's hopeless that these parties will ever reach a lasting peace.

Bush has enough chutzpah to attack a country (Iraq) without proof positive of WMD's. So yeah, sure...why not. Even if he didn't, he would say he did.

Do you honestly think the Palestinians or the Israelis really want peace? Until both sides want it, it's not going to happen. Who is POTUS really has nothing to do with it.

Bush has plenty of hutzpah, but absolutly no influence in the middle east, where he is viewed as an idiot. Of course he is an idiot so the answer is no, he has no influence
