SINCE U DIDNT SPECIFY WHAT TYPE DRAIN I WOULD SAY USE CAUTION..
if you drains are pvc pipe go easy as to not break the pipe with a snake..
you can buy small ones at your local hardware store 25-50-bucks
if you are having trouble with your main line going out to the street, you can rent a power snake for the job and do it yourself...but remember dont force it
let the tool do the job its designed for...when you hit blockage proceed carefully as it could be a turn in the pipe versus a clog...
take your time and you shall be fine....
and the worst case if you are on the main going out is a collasped pipe or tree root ruptured it...then unfortunately its time for a professional
good luck

You can go to a home improvement store or a hardware store for one and stick it in the clogged area turn the handle and it will start spinning and the end of it has a little hook on the end of it and depending on what's stuck in there it will catch it and or push it through and if it gets caught on the hook it will come back up when you wind it back to you. Hope it works for you. Good Luck
